Workshop in Computational Approaches to Stem Cell Biology II

Ingo Roeder and Ingmar Glauche will organise a two-day training workshop on Computational Approaches to Stem Cell Biology, to be held in Dresden in early December 2010. The workshop will introduce some key aspects of modelling of transcriptional regulation, and participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at translating a biological problem into a simple model. The second part of the workshop will provide an overview of available bioinformatics software, most likely illustrating and working on a particular example.

The objective of the workshop is to enable participants to understand and interpret modelling results (e.g. in the literature), rather than becoming modellers themselves. The precise outline and structure of the workshop are still under discussion. More details will be provided here as soon as they are available. If you have ideas about what you'd like to learn at such a workshop, please contact Ingo ingo.roeder@tu-dresden.de or Ingmar ingmar.glauche@tu-dresden.de

EMBO Conference - Advances in Stem Cell Research: Development, Regeneration and Disease

The 3rd event in this EMBO Conference Series on Stem Cells. The aim of this meeting is to bring together researchers with expertise on stem cell biology in Development, Regeneration and Disease.

This should be an opportune moment to discuss work in these areas with researchers who can share their experiences with different tissue systems, both at the basic and translational level.

Programme details, a speaker list and registration details will be made available at a later date.                                                                 Organisers: Shahragim Tajbakhsh, Margaret Buckingham, Giulio Cossu.
